In a working session with police, they held Mr Thạch's head and hitting twice to the glass-surface table, causing serious injuries. He was treated at Bệnh viện Đa khoa hospital.
On April 15, around 7:00AM, Mrs Lựu, while watching her water buffalos, saw district policemen and strangers showed up to inspect her family truck. They suspected the truck was used for hauling woods on the black market and wanted to impound it. She tried to stop and a struggle followed. She was escorted to Tam Xuân 2 village gov office for a working session because resisting law enforcement officers.
Around 11:00AM, after issuing the truck impounding paper, Mr Thạch was asked to report to Núi Thành district police office for interrogating on trafficking woods illegally.
According to Mr Thạch, while working with the police, they forcefully knocked his head twice on the glass-surface table. The first time it caused the glass cracked, the second time the glass broke and cut into his forehead, blood came out all over. About 10 minutes later, police took him to the hospital.
Police major PHẠM Minh Quang, Deputy Chief of Núi Thành district police, said Thạch was self knocking his head to the table.

According to Vietnam's Security Department's Report in Mar 2015: From Jan 10, 2011 to Sept 30, 2014, there are 226 peoples died in temporary police transitional cells.
Originated from the brutal force, the regime has designed the police CULTURE of beating at first sign and torture. This culture has to be changed.
