April 14, 2014

Born:

Đại Lộc district
Quảng Nam province

Responsible police station:

Incident:
According to Hòa Vang district police, Bình involved with a 10-member group that held other person illegally.

In September 2013, Mr. VÕ Văn Chừng (born 1966, lives in Hòa Nhơn village, Hòa Vang district) lost a motorcycle. He suspected that the youths in the village stole it and asked Mr. NGUYỄN Quốc (born 1987, lives in Hòa Nhơn village)  to help him doing the "investigation".

Quốc invited 9 other people and Bình is one of them. The group at first suspected that NGUYỄN Văn Hoàng Nhân (born 1988, lives in Hòa Nhơn village) stole it, so many times they took Nhân to cemetery and other places, beat him for information. Scarily, Nhân lied to them that NGUYỄN Thành Vinh (born 1999, lives in Hòa Nhơn village) took it and sold for 11 millions $VN đồng.

The group was looking for Vinh, stop him many times, took him to remote location for beating. Knowing this, Hòa Vang district police intervened, investigated and finding them to arrest.

Bình tried to evade the arrest, escaped from the local. Police convinced Bình's family to persuade him to surface and report to them. On April 10, 2014 Bình's uncle took him to Hòa Vang district police for reporting.

On April 13, 2014 the police inspector of Hòa Vang approved a detaining order for further interrogating. On April 14, he died and police said he committed suicide by hanging in jail cell.

In the buried permit issued to Bình's family, police stated that Bình's death and the reason is unclear.

The other fact is that upon Bình's death, Hòa Vang district police paid his family $35 million $VN đồng. The district people's opinion was that this is "to keep silence money".
